The $11 spent on Friday

Well, I was excited... I made a list of things I wanted to find while hitting the local yard sales. I went to 3 total, and found everything I was looking for and spent only $11. On my list was:

Belt Buckles
vintage jewelry
scrabble game
I want to make some belt buckles like on Gypsy Brocante... hers are gorgeous!
I also wanted to make scrabble tile pendants like I saw on http://www.makeandtakes.com/links/scrabble-tile-pendant-tutorial

Well, I also found a great bottle, old silver flatware, and about 20 old watches.... I think today was my lucky day!

The search is over!

I've been searching for about a year to find the right case for my
old pins and earrings.

Well, I found it at a yard sale.... $1

However the 1982 wood
was not part of my plan,
so I painted... again.

It is now 8:30am on a Friday,
and I better get my bootie going,
there might be more deals out there.

The way I want to be....

"Give me a PURE heart-that I may see Thee,
a HUMBLE heart-that I may hear Thee,
a heart of LOVE-that I may serve Thee,
a heart of FAITH-that I may abide in Thee"

Pizookie

I’ve learned that if I find a recipe that I like, I should blog about it. If I post it, I know where to find it next time I want to use it. Anyways, it was my girl’s birthday… big 20! YIKES, that makes me officially old. So I decided to make her a pizookie instead of a cake. Here is what I made….
2 1/4 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

1tsp salt

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 package of instant vanilla pudding: small package (3.4 oz) ( I used Coconut Cream Pudding!)

1 cup (two sticks) of butter room temp*

1 tsp. vanilla extract

2 large eggs

1 package of chocolate chips.

preheat oven to 350 degrees.

*if you don't plan ahead ( like me) and don't have your butter at room temp, you can always put your butter in the microwave for a few seconds till it's super mushy.

in a large bowl place your butter, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, vanilla pudding, extract, and eggs.

Mix till creamy.

Gradually add flour.

Keep mixing till all flour is in. add choc chips.

Mush (nice English...ha) in a big pan.

Bake for 15 minutes (keep checking, all ovens bake differently). Do not over bake.

Reheat 10 min before you want to serve so it is nice and warm, serve with ice-cream

Which leads me to the ice cream story....

I went to pick up some at the store. I noticed that all the ice cream containers have become quite small.... and I found a original 1/2 gallon. I laughed when I read what was written on the seal (read for yourself). Really??? It should be the other way around... on NEW containers "new smaller size!"

This is for my special friend, daughter, the one I admire. I can honestly say, I have the greatest daughter in the world!

She is:

basically, she is everything I'd like to be!

She only has one downfall.... she likes country music! (just kidding)
